Gay Parents Speak

Our 2010 annual conference featured the NYS premiere of LIVING ADOPTION: GAY PARENTS SPEAK, a new training and recruitment video for adoptive parents and the professionals who work with them.  This 20-minute video has just been completed by PhotoSynthesis Productions, with whom NYSCCC has collaborated in the past to produce the award-winning DVDs STRUGGLE FOR IDENTITY and FOSTER PARENTS SPEAK.

GAY PARENTS SPEAK was produced in collaboration with Ellen Kahn, Director of the All Children- All Families Program at the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC.  Both Ellen and Deborah Hoard, president of PhotoSynthesis will join us for this showing.  The video follows in the style of STRUGGLE FOR IDENTITY and FOSTER PARENTS SPEAK, with a compelling cast of adoptive parents who tackle issues ranging from handling the process of adoption, to being a conspicuous family and helping children develop their identity.  The video is being distributed on a DVD that include Bonus Scenes, a discussion guide and more.
